Chatham County Early Childhood Action Plan (ECAP) with Chatham County Partnership for Children (CCPFC)
As the ECAP Project Director-Facilitator, I facilitated Advisory Committee and Community Collaborative meetings, managed Community Needs Assessment’s community engagement and equity strategies, developed a one-year action plan, and served as the Executive Director’s lead thought-partner.
I continue to facilitate the ECAP’s annual “State of the Child” event. This participatory event re-imagines the “community briefing” event format with a dynamic panel discussion and inviting community partners to provide feedback on one-year action steps towards the goals of the Early Childhood Action Plan. I also support CCPFC staff in implementation planning.
Physical Space Assessment with Culture Mill
In this 3-year participatory and community-driven process with Culture Mill, we are assessing their current and visioning their future use and access to a physical space. Incorporating creative, visual and movement-based facilitation techniques, as well focus group and community visioning sessions, we are creating a dynamic short and long-term plans for Culture Mill that balances engagement with their community(ies) and their creative practice.
Strategic Conversations with the Academic Consortium on Criminal Justice Health (ACCJH)
Over a participatory in-person half-days retreat and two virtual conversations with ACCJH’s board, key stakeholders, and community members we collaboratively updated ACCJH’s mission, vision and values to be equity-oriented. With 30+ participations, we used visual, collaborative facilitation techniques and consensus-based decision making. I also provided critical thought partnership to organizational leadership.
Board Retreat with Science Communicators of NC (SCONC)
During this half-day retreat, we assessed the organization’s current activities, clarifying their core purpose, and creating a decision matrix tool to assess future opportunities and collaborations. We used visual and collaborative facilitation and consensus-based decision making techniques.
Organizational Policies and Procedures Manual for El Vínculo Hispano (EVH)
Working in partnership EVH leadership and staff, I developed a culturally-responsive organizational policies and procedures manual that balanced the interests of employees and the organization and formalized previously informal policies. I facilitated dynamic virtual planning sessions with leadership team and staff input and feedback sessions in Spanish.
Meet You at the Crossroads II: A 3-day Musical Exploration
Provided production support to Toshi Reagon for a 3-Day musical festival. Managed all communication and publicity, artist services and ticket sales.
Chatham 250: A Semiquincentennial Celebration
I served as the facilitative project manager for a 6-month 250th anniversary celebration which included 20+ community partners and 10+ community events and history projects. All planning meetings were participatory, consent-based and virtual.
